Finally updated to Catalina on my hack mini. I started off by updating kext and clover. When that was done I wanted to reboot to make sure everything still worked. Original plan was to upgrade directly from the App Store. I ended up getting the old end random seed error +++++. I figured my hack mini was pooched so I downloaded Catalina anyways on my other hack and made an USB installer. I then installed clover on the USB stick and copied over the kext folder from my hack mini that I had backed up on GitHub. The installer did its thing and after several reboots later I was in business. Hack mini was able to boot but still needed the USB stick so I reinstalled clover on the HDD again and that solved the issue. So far everything that was working in mojave still works and everything that didn’t still doesn’t. All in all took about 3 hours for the update. Anyways, that’s my report.
