Is VGA-to-HDMI supported?

I have a GPU (RX 570) and a crappy monitor which only supports VGA. I'm running Windows now with a VGA-HDMI converter.

I saw in the FAQ that VGA are not supported but can I still build a Hackintosh with my current setup or do I need to change my monitor?
