Asus VIII Hero Z170, Intel i7 6700K Skylake, 32GB Kingston DDR4, GeForce GTX 970

Older System of my brother, who wanted it to become a Hackintosh, also my first Hackintosh attempt.

Now Working: Network, Graphics and Audio.

Route:

Stick: Created a Clover Bootloader with Unibeast, used OS Version was High Sierra (Build 17G66) (wanted Mojave first, but Nvidia Driver Support was an issue)

Bios: Loaded defaults, Fast Boot disabled, Secure Boot "other OS", Keyboard & Mouse emulation disabled, VT-d disabled, Legacy USB auto, Network stack disabled, Power on by pcie disabled. Enabling XHCI Handoff was recommended in several hackintosh boards, but I didn't had the setting, it worked nonetheless, so I continued.

Post Install fixes: Audio wasn't working, it was easy to fix with Multibeast, I selected the AppleALC kext and the ALC1150 kext provided by the Multibeast App for High Sierra.

The Nvidia GTX required multiple fixes. I installed the whatevergreen kext via kextbeast and removed the nv_disable=1 flag with CloverConfigurator. To Install the Nvidia Webdriver, I had to modify the Buildnumber in "SystemVersion.plist" from 17G66 to 17G6019 (last supported build by Nvidia). After install and restart the Webdriver was working, detected both Displays and the GTX 970 was listed in "About this Mac".

What I've learned: As a newbie I initially tried to fix everything that wasn't working with Multibeast. This went terribly wrong and required several reinstalls. Sometimes I would destroy the (before) working ethernet settings or forget to clean the installed kexts before the next fixing run. Sometimes less is actually better.
