Smart Fan control not working in MacOS on Gigabyte hackintosh.

Firstly thanks to the r/hackintosh community for the mountain of useful information on Hackintoshing.

When I made my hack I used the 3 speed fan controller switch attached to the Corsair 330r case I built in... But I wanted it to be more dynamic so I plugged all fans into their correct sockets on the mobo... but they do not work in MacOS as per the setting in BIOS. If you set it to constant maximum, that works, on other settings they just remain on low rpm and do not respond to increasing temps, resulting in some alarming temps 80+ on the cpu when rendering on all cores.

I just ordered a 2nd fan for the Noctua NH-D15s, but without proper fan control this is a bit pointless of course. The case only has 1 front and 1 back fans as it comes from the factory.

There could be other reasons for the high temps under maximum load... I admit it is my first build and a certain amount of uneducated cut/paste/tinkering went on, though on the whole it works really well. But regardless of exactly why I get high temps (apart from the fact that the i9 is a hot one), you'd think once it was hot, the fans should kick in full blast and they don't, so that is my immediate issue.

Any help much appreciated.

Not certain which sys info is likely to help diagnosis, I'm using FakeSMC if it makes any difference. Oh and it is a Vanilla / Clover install.
