Mac mini i7 + egpu vs Hackintosh

Hi !

This is my first post on reddit, so.. :D

I would like to buy a new computer for Video Editing ( occasional but may be professional at a some time ), Audio Production and some other stuff. The first computer I ever used was the good old white IMac. After that I got my first pc , an asus All-in-One which was really awesome at the time. Windows 7 was really great and it didn't bother me not to have Os X anymore. Years passed, and I was forced to change my computer, I went back to apple and got the 2011 Macbook pro with Lion, it was around 1710 usd ( which seemed expensive at the time, now IPhones cost almost the same..).

It began to slow down, and I went again to a windows pc, however I didn't like premiere, and missed some of the mac exclusives app.

I must say that I was a big fan of Apple, and was really excited for keynotes and all of that stuff. I believe that Steve was gifted by God. However, when Steve Jobs passed away, it seems like apple went with him. Now look at the prices for a mac, it's crazy to think that a laptop can cost more than a car nowadays.

Apple released their 2018 mac mini, and it seems to be a great deal. But the lack of a dedicated cpu is bothering. I also know that hackintosh existed since years, but always heard that it crashed all the time, and also that wifi isn't supported. Also, I need a machine that could be carried if needed. So I have two options now:

  1. Get a mac mini in 8gb ram, core i7 1tb ssd and upgrade the ram myself for around 1900 usd, and eventually buy an egpu ( does this affect the editing or the exportation ? ) for a total of 2700 usd.
  2. Build a hackintosh for the same price, with 64gb ram, designare z390, i9 9900k , radeon VII . wifi ?

Is a hackintosh really that unstable ?

Thanks
