First hackintosh and damn does final cut fly.

I have dabbled with hackintosh a few years back but with no real success.

I had a spare ssd lying around and yesterday I decided to give it another shot, this time using Mojave.

After a short time playing around it is working flawlessly.

Here are my specs:

  • Processor: i7-8700

  • GPU: RX 470

  • Motherboard: Asus TUF series (I do not know the exact model number)

I started the install on a different computer but was only able to boot to a blank screen with cursor I was using integrated graphics, I decided to see if using a gpu would help. But after installing the gpu I couldn't even boot to bios (that old computer may be dead now)

I put the drive into an enclosure and plugged it into my main desktop and it booted and worked just fine. I only had to install new network drivers for intel and I signed into icloud without any work around. I did not test messages or face time, but all my iCloud and app store stuff works just fine.

Since 2016 I had a 13" pro and I would occasionally do some final cut stuff (home video things) and it would take forever to render. Now I am just messing around but there is almost no waiting for short stuff. I am in love with this build and am consistently impressed with its performance.
