This issue even effects real Apple computers running 10.14.4/10.14.5, and there is no fix forthcoming from Apple.
The issue almost always occurs during media playback (video), so it is probably RX 580 hardware decoding? I have tried switching playback software and browsers but it still happens... sometimes three times in an hour? sometimes after 3 days uptime?!?!
I cannot see any other way of fixing the issue other than downgrading to High Sierra 10.13.6? I have already downloaded the installer app, and I am currently doing a Time Machine backup.
I see some people recommend deleting some folders in ~/Library/Containers... which I assume is some new 10.14.x security feature (APFS??)??? I have not had a crash since doing this, but I am being pro-active, and I will be ready when the first freeze happens.
Anyone else heard of a fix to random freezing in 10.14.4/5 ???!
