[Mojave] Update installer for 10.14.4 hangs after reboot

Hey everyone, very early Hackintosh adopter (we're talking the deadmoo days on a Pentium 4) here, but I have been out of the scene for the last few years. Decided to throw Mojave on a laptop that I had laying around (following RehabMan's EliteBook/ProBook guide) and I'm happy to report that all is well. This is probably the most solid Hack I ever ran, but I'm running into some issues with updating.

10.14.3 installed just fine using RehabMan's guide, but when it comes to updating to 10.14.4, the process hangs after reboot. Fortunately, I can just shut the machine down and reboot back into macOS and all is good again, but I can't get this damn update to take. I've tried to search for similar issues, but I'm coming up short. I've tried updating from both System Preferences and downloading the Delta update directly, but it's the same end result. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm missing something glaringly obvious, but I'm just not seeing it.
