In case anyone was curious. I was continuing to have the same failures tonight. Would be watching the text come up while trying to boot from USB and then my monitor would go blank. I had tried with the HDMI plugged into my iGPU and also plugged into my GPU and always got the same results. My HDMI was plugged into my GPU this time and I thought hrm what if the GPU went down or something and its not actually crashing. I pulled the HDMI out and put it in the other HDMI slot in the GPU and up popped the install screen. So much wasted time but so happy that I figured out this stupid little bug. Onwards!
