[Help] Installed new graphics card, not sure what to do next

Hey everyone, I've had a very stable mackintosh build for about 3 years now based on an i7-4790k, GA-H97M-D3H mobo, and gtx 970. I have been running 10.11.6 el capitan for the entire time.

I recently just purchased a 1070ti and installed it in my machine, the card works 100% on windows and I can boot into OS X with it, but there are serious display issues. These include screen tearing and refresh problems and incorrect resolution with no options to fix in preferences.

I have had a very stable build for a long time so I still don't really know much about hackintosh. I'm looking for advice on what to do next in order to get this new graphics card working as well as my old one.
