I'm very grateful to have stumbled on this sub because the vanilla install method and support advice here made for a much better experience than the tonymac method I used to build my son's Hackintosh last year!
This new machine replaced my old Mac Pro (and you can see the Geekbench comparison in the screenshot).
Hardware:
- CPU: Intel i7-9700K 3.60GHz
- MOBO: ASUS TUF Z390M-Pro Gaming mATX
- COOLER: Corsair Hydro Series H60 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
- RAM: Crucial 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133
- SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III
- HD: WD Black 4TB Performance Hard Drive
- GFX: Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB
- PSU: Corsair CS550M PSU
- CASE: NZXT H400i - MicroATX PC Gaming
Still to do:
- WiFi support (since it's in my office I'm fine with hardwired ethernet for now)
- Bluetooth support (waiting for BT USB dongle delivery)
- Audio support (the integrated ALC S1200A chipset is not currently supported so using USB audio for now)
- Integration with my audio/guitar setup (Focusrite Scarlet and Atomic Studio Devil)
- tidy up all the damn cables under my desk!
