Next Generation AirPods to Arrive in First Half of 2019 With 'Health Monitoring' Functions [Report]

Apple will release its next generation AirPods 2 in the first half of 2019, according to a DigiTimes report. The site claims the wireless earbuds will gain some health monitoring capabilities.

In terms of wireless headsets, Apple is set to release AirPods 2 sometime in the first half of 2019, and the new wireless earbuds with discrete designs to carry health monitoring functions are expected to receive enthusiastic market responses. Other brand vendors have all planned to launch wireless headsets in the year, with market competition seen to heat up soon.

Well known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also predicted that Apple will update its AirPods with wireless charging in early 2019. This will likely occur around the same time Apple releases its AirPower wireless charging mat. Kuo also believes the company will introduce an all-new design for the earphones in early 2020.
