Clover not applying settings

Okay I'm going crazy. I have no idea why but clover is not applying my settings.

First of all, I wanted to clean my config so I made a new one with 'generate config'. When I open this config on clover and change the theme, the theme reverts back to embedded. I tried going text mode, but it reverts back also.

I tried then using sublime text and it works, but if I open the config again with clover it reverts back to embedded.

I also made a custom GUI, by hiding the prebooter and recovery, to clean up a bit, and that doesn't work either.

There's nothing on the internet regarding this issue and I have no idea what to do. Please help.
